Are there any pre-relocation actions I need to take?

You do not need to take any actions before your solution is moved to the public cloud.

Are there any post-relocation actions I need to take?

After your Altru solution is moved to Microsoft Azure, you will need to take additional steps to update your URL, your saved bookmarks, your OData connections, and your SFTP paths. Please review this knowledgebase article to learn more.

Q: Why is my solution being moved to the public cloud and how will I benefit?

A: Blackbaud Cloud Operations includes innovative, modern cloud infrastructure enabling heightened security, reliability, performance and more—all benefits that will help drive collaboration efforts throughout your organization. Your Blackbaud Altru data will reside within your region in the public cloud.

For you to take full advantage of the benefits of Blackbaud’s new modern cloud operations model, we will be relocating your hosted Altru solution to Microsoft® Azure.

Q: How does Blackbaud ensure the relocation process is secure, given the confidentiality/sensitivity of the information that is being transferred?

A: Customer data is fully encrypted, transferred, and stored in data encrypted storage containers during the timeframe of the customer relocation. Once the customer’s solution is moved into the public cloud environment successfully, all the encrypted stored data used to enable the relocation is deleted from the storage container.

Q: When will my relocation occur and what is the impact?

A: Relocation to the public cloud will occur during the planned maintenance window for your region on the date in your notification. The downtime during your relocation only impacts your Altru solution, not any other Blackbaud solutions or constituent facing pages.

Can you tell me the exact hours of the planned maintenance windows? Currently the moves for Tuesday and Thursday windows are scheduled for 11 p.m. - 3 a.m. ET and the moves for Sunday windows will be between 3 a.m. - 7 a.m. ET.

Q: Will there be any disruption in service during the relocation?

A: To limit operational disruption, your relocation will occur outside of daily business hours on your scheduled relocation date. During the relocation, you will not be able to log in to or access your solution. After the successful completion of your Microsoft Azure relocation, we will send an email to confirm your relocation is complete.

Q: What do I need to know about my staging site's move to Blackbaud's Cloud Operations?

A: If you have a staging site that will be relocating, you will receive email communications from Blackbaud with the date your staging site will be moved to Azure. Staging sites will relocate in four hour windows from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on your date. Users cannot access staging sites during this timeframe. You will need to follow the post relocations steps for staging sites after the staging site has been relocated. Please not that this does not impact your production Altru site which has already been moved.
